Goodison Park Era Nears End
Everton have officially unveiled the name of their new £802 million stadium as the Hill Dickinson Stadium, ahead of their move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season.
The naming rights have been secured by Liverpool-based legal firm Hill Dickinson. The 52,888-seater stadium will open its doors in August, ending Everton’s 132-year stay at Goodison Park.
Mixed Reactions From Fans
The announcement sparked immediate debate among supporters. While some welcomed the financial gain, many expressed distaste at the stadium’s new name.
“Hate the name but I’ll just call it Bramley Moore like most people,” one fan posted on social media. Another said: “Rather just stay at Goodison now to be fair.”
Despite criticism, others acknowledged the value of the deal. One user noted: “Well done Everton, biggest naming rights deal in Europe.”
Preparations Underway for the Move
Test events have already been held at the new venue, including an Under-18s match against Wigan in February. The club also plans a special farewell to Goodison Park on Sunday, when they host Southampton in their final home game of the season.
As anticipation builds for a new era at Bramley-Moore Dock, fans are calling for visible Everton branding to be added around the stadium exterior.
What’s Next for the Toffees?
With the move now official and naming rights secured, Everton will be hoping the transition marks a new chapter of progress and financial growth—both on and off the pitch.
