Leeds United Eye Beto as Premier League Plans Begin with £100m Budget

Newly-Promoted Leeds Target Everton Striker in Ambitious Summer Window

Leeds United are reportedly exploring a move for Everton striker Beto as they prepare for their return to the Premier League. The club, now under the full ownership of 49ers Enterprises, is expected to operate with a transfer budget in excess of £100 million this summer.

Daniel Farke’s side are aiming to reinforce their spine with top-level talent and view the Portuguese forward as a potential key addition. Beto joined Everton in 2023 for over £20 million and has two years remaining on his current deal. He is the Toffees’ joint-top scorer this season with seven goals in all competitions.

Beto Interest Highlights Leeds’ Summer Priorities

According to internal sources, Leeds plan to invest significantly in a new striker, central midfielder, centre-back, and goalkeeper—each with a £30 million allocation. Beto, who has made 27 appearances in the league this season, is seen as a physical and reliable presence up front as the club builds for long-term stability in the top flight.

While Everton have not confirmed their stance, the looming departure of several first-team players, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, could complicate any outgoing transfers. With David Moyes newly installed as Everton manager, the club’s transfer direction remains uncertain heading into the summer.

Speaking during the club’s title-winning open-top bus parade, Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe underlined the club’s ambitious plans. “This is just the beginning,” he told supporters. “We want to become one of the best clubs in all of Europe. We’ve come through tough times—and now we push forward.”

Leeds sealed promotion after a dominant Championship campaign and now aim to consolidate their status in the top flight. As well as a new striker, the club will look to bring in full-backs and a right winger if their initial transfer goals are met.
